LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blackmagic Design today announced UltraStudio 3D, a compact and portable capture and playback device based on the all-new Thunderbolt™ technology developed by Intel® and brought to market with collaboration from Apple®. UltraStudio 3D features full resolution dual stream 3D support, 12 bit hardware architecture, dual link 3 Gb/s SDI, support for up to 1080p60 in SDI and component analog and HDMI 1.4a connections, as well as full SD, HD and 2K support, for only US$995.
The new Thunderbolt™ technology enables UltraStudio 3D to offer Dual Link 3 Gb/s SDI, HDMI 1.4a and analog component/s-video/composite, as well as balanced analog and AES/EBU digital audio capture and playback. UltraStudio 3D is perfect for 3D workflow as it features both interleaved/side by side and dual stream capture and playback. Interleaved 3D allows the left and right eye to be interleaved as fields into a single video connection and file, so customers can edit using current editing software.
Dual stream 3D allows customers to use the UltraStudio 3D dual link SDI connections to capture and playback two streams, one for the left eye and one for the right eye. The two streams are recorded into two separate media files. Dual stream 3D is higher quality because each eye is full resolution video, but dual stream is less compatible with current editing software. To solve this problem, Blackmagic Design’s Media Express has been upgraded to handle both interleaved and dual stream 3D for capture and playback of 3D media for a complete 3D solution.
The UltraStudio 4K Mini is available immediately from Blackmagic Design resellers worldwide for $995. Lastly, Petty announced a new desktop app, Blackmagic RAW Speed Test app, which is a new performance measurement tool for Mac OS X, which, according to the company “tests a computer’s CPU and GPU speeds using full resolution Blackmagic RAW image decodes making it possible for. Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K Thunderbolt 2 - Software CD featuring: - Media Express - Disk Speed Test. The SDI inputs also support dual-channel 2D/3D stereoscopic workflows. UltraStudio 4K is capable of hardware-based HD down/up/cross conversion. Software driver loads upgrades at system start or via updater software.

Hi there.Yes, I searched for 'Media Express' at the FAQ. 'No results found'. Yes, I did also search this forum before posting for 'Media Express' and was hit with so many posts unrelated to what I am after that I gave up.
Yes, I have registered my Intensity Shuttle Express USB 3.0.I must be missing something really obvious. Surely this software should not be this difficult to find, requiring users to go to the effort of setting up a forum account and posting a message asking for help about it?
There's no way to email Blackmagic about this, so here goes - probably the millionth query asking for a logical, clear pathway to downloading and installing the fabled 'Media Express' software which I should have immediate access to according to my packaging for my Intensity Shuttle: 'Includes Media Express for easy capture and playback'.
Media Express, however, is *not* included as a download, only Desktop Video Setup is included.
The Blackmagic website does *not* have a link to this, that I can find... and the software download card which came with the device only gives me a download link for Desktop Video Setup. The BM website is a bit of a nightmare to navigate - you can't even search for Media Express - which is essential to have to be able to use this device on a Mac.
