Selling magic items is problematic. Finding someone to buy a potion or a scroll isn’t too hard, but other items are out of the realm of most but the wealthiest nobles. Likewise, aside from a few common magic items, you won’t normally come across magic items or spells to purchase. The average robe will have 2.1 of these patches. Final Verdict The Robe of Useful Items is fucking amazing and worth way more than its asking price. Players: Please use this knowledge responsibly. DMs: If your players start abusing this, then the only Robes that are available will have already been stripped of their treasure and magic patches. Robe of Serpents. Robe of Useless Items: This appears to be a remarkably well made and gold embroidered robe, but a character who dons it notes that it is adorned with small cloth patches of various shapes. Only the wearer of the robe can see these patches, and detach them. One patch can be detached each round. Detaching a patch causes it to become an actual item, as indicated below. A newly created robe of useless items has a number of patches with a varying item. Roll 5d6 for the number of patches and then roll for each patch on the table below to determine its nature.
Multiple items of the same kind are permissible. Once removed, a patch cannot be replaced.
